Deliver Ease

Overview

Impact of DEliver ease

DeliverEase app is a delivery platform developed to streamline the delivery process for merchants and delivery agents. The app was designed to enhance delivery efficiency, improve user experience, and facilitate seamless transactions between merchants and agents.

The Story

“>The DeliverEase project aimed to revolutionize the delivery experience for both merchants and delivery agents through the development of a versatile delivery platform. Recognizing the increasing demand for efficient and user-friendly delivery services, our goal was to create a seamless and optimized system that would enhance the operational processes for merchants and empower delivery agents to provide swift and reliable service. The project encompassed in-depth research, thoughtful design iterations, rigorous user testing, and the implementation of innovative features to meet the evolving needs of our users.

Problem Statement

Many individuals struggle to manage their health information efficiently. Disjointed patient portals and scattered medical data hinder proactive health management. The need for a comprehensive solution that bridges these gaps becomes evident.

  • Merchants & Agents are still using the offline method.
  • Transactions are not properly recorded.
  • Users cannot see the progress of the delivery and the order.
  • Communication is still done through WhatsApp.
  • Merchants still ensure the available stock manually.
  • Agents cannot see orders directly.
  • Merchants has difficulty recording sales and goods.

Objective

The goal was to enable users to aggregate data from multiple patient portals effortlessly, making sense of their health information.

My Role

As a UX/UI designer for this project, I ensured that my designs were user-friendly and streamlined the delivery process for merchants and delivery agents while enhancing customer satisfaction. This approach led to improved operational efficiency and increased sales for the merchants, while also being easily implementable by developers.

User Research

User research is a process to find out the user point of view, their frustrations and their struggle to get their understanding. I have used two methods which contributed hugely in addition to my own findings.

Research plan

  • Survey
  • Interview
  • Empathy Map
  • User Persona
  • User Journey

Survey

I did survey with 30 potential users in combination with interviews from individual conversation to know their views, experience and to collect quantitative and qualitative data. The target audience were between the age 20-50 Yrs old.

Interviews

From the survey that I have done, I did filtering, and got 8 Merchants and 5 Agents for direct interview. I did online interviews using Zoom and Google Meet and invited them at different times with most of the Merchants and did Whatsapp video call with Agents as it was more handy to them.

Customer Journey

In an interview with a few primary care physicians, I gained valuable insights into the difficulties experienced by patients who do not adhere to their medical treatments, as well as the consequences of such non-compliance.

The physician also highlighted various stages where insurance companies play a role in the process, although we will not delve into these details in the MVP stage.

Competitor Analysis

Competitive analysis is the evaluation of competitors in an industry, involving the assessment of their strengths, weaknesses, products, pricing, marketing strategies, and market dominance. This process helps businesses identify operational strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. The physician also highlighted various stages where insurance companies play a role in the process, although we will not delve into these details in the MVP stage.

Since a lot of delivery apps are already there in the market. Although, there is no direct competitor to what I was looking for, for building this new product. So, I went ahead and tried them to understand how they function on a basic level and understand what they have to offer,

The competitive analysis helped understand the conceptual model that different apps have for users and is a good starting point for the research as it gives a lot of insights into the kind of interface people are used to.

Information Architecture

Information architecture of a platform is all about organization of information in a clear and logical way. So that, the users don’t have to take time to process the information. Such organization of data follows a clear purpose which helps users to navigate through the complex sets of information. I’ve dedicated my time in organizing the data for the users which would make sense to them without thinking much about it.

Sketches/ Wireframes

Sketches or Wireframes are essential in the early stages of a project to outline the basic structure and layout of a user interface to figure out the solution of a problem. Based on all the research and documentation, I took it to paper and started ideating and sketching out the solution on paper. Below are the sketches that I made in the process of defining the layout and UX flows of the application.

Visual Design

Solution
My design approach focused on creating a cohesive and visually appealing interface that allows users to track key preventive biomarkers and monitor chronic conditions with ease. By prioritizing a clean and intuitive design, I aimed to enhance the overall user experience, making health tracking a straightforward and accessible process.

  • Creation of order tracking feature for Merchants.
  • Creation of referral earning feature.
  • Merchants can see their added customers and employees.
  • Merchants can create single or multiple deliveries option for agents.
  • Merchants and Agents can see their earnings through My Wallet.
  • Dashboard for Merchants to see their Ongoing Orders, Total Orders, Referral earnings, Total Customers and Total earnings.
  • Dashboard for Agents to see their Current location and New orders.

UI (User Interface) design involves creating the visual elements and interactive features that users interact with in a digital product. Based on the sketches, I made Hifi Designs to better give the feel of the solution discovered in the research and covered the main cases that a “Delivery Agent” and a “Merchant” would have to go through.

Key Learnings

Working for DeliverEase, and helping to design their User focused journey has been a challenging but at the same time one of the best experiences I had. Some of the key learnings were:

  • Gained a lot of new information of B2B sector in India as this was my first B2B product.
  • Research is the Key in building such complex products and design workshops are a must.
  • The project’s scope has to be clear from the beginning, in order to avoid trying to solve multiple problems at the same time, which can only lead to confusion.
