MY ROLE
As the sole UX/UI designer, my aim for the project was to provide an intuitive and secure environment for both sellers and buyers to engage in the dynamic world of NFT transactions.
Problem Statement
The goal was to create an intuitive and visually appealing space for buying and selling NFTs, overcoming barriers to entry and setting a new standard in the digital asset marketplace. This case study explores the design process undertaken to redefine the user experience and establish a trustworthy and engaging platform for NFT enthusiasts.

Whimsical
As a Designer and as a Team, we all faced difficulties in understanding the concept of Digital Art and its need at the first place as it was very new to us. Finally, after diving deep into our base level research by reading a lot of blogs & articles about NFTs, blockchain, metamask wallets, gas fee etc., and by watching a lot of youtube videos about how it works and also talking to the Stakeholders about the business needs, we figured out the following challenges while catering to our problem statement.
I utilized the “Design Thinking” process to design the platform, prioritizing a deep understanding of my users. This approach allowed me to define their problems and goals, gather ideas informed by primary and secondary research, and ultimately create visual designs and prototypes that resonate with their needs and expectations. The design process was a flexible and iterative approach which helped me in refinement and improvement of the product.
We did a workshop with our stakeholders and asked them to project their goals on the UCD (User Centered Canvas) which eventually helped me in aligning the project goals and also helped us in making decisions about key features and enabling risk mitigation. Through extensive research, the canvas provided me insights into user needs and promoted collaboration among the team and stakeholders as well.
I wanted to make my research User-Centric in order to get to know my users more deeply. Below is the combined Empathy Map and User Persona of 2 types of users: The Artists & The Art Collectors. By creating personas, I got to know who my users are, what they like, and how to make the platform work well for them.
During my primary research, I found some core features which are needed for our users. On the basis of those insights, I examined our competitors and analyzed what similar platforms are doing in the market. This process helped me in providing valuable insights and in understanding what features are a must to have and where we have the opportunity to do better than our competitors.
I streamlined the flow of all the competitors to examine what similar platforms are doing in the market. This process helped me in providing valuable insights that guided in identifying where the market has untapped potential or where improvements can be made. It’s like a performance check—seeing how well the platform measures up in terms of features, user experience, and pricing compared to others. This analysis also helped me in keeping the platform in the loop about trends in the NFT space, helps to avoid potential problems, and fosters a stronger connection with users. I understood that in a rapidly changing market, understanding and learning from competitors is key to ensuring the our platform’s long-term success.
In the Ideation phase, there were several design decisions to be taken and for that I had to explore a lot on the basis of User needs. I made the decision on the basis of Feedbacks and Suggestions from Our Team and Stakeholders. I have represented one of my explorations below.
